about Alan

Hello! Thank you for visiting my website and wanting to learn more about me. I’ve been blessed with loving parents and 2 sisters, and grew up in Erie, PA and San Diego, CA. My family, being of Anabaptist tradition, instilled in me the idea of a God of love, as well as the ideal of nonviolence. I took those principles to heart, even though I’ve always bristled at orthodoxies and professions of faith, I’ve always been a “seeker” on the path of the “Great Work”.    I attended The Johnston Center for Individualized Learning at the University of Redlands and majored in “Religion and Transformation”.  While in college, I had the opportunity to spend a semester traveling to India, Nepal, and Tibet with the School For International Training.  While there, I took refuge in the triple jewel of Buddhism with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and privileged to receive audience with other llamas and masters.

After I graduated, I started living in a variety of intentional communities. From communal houses in Eugene to I volunteering full-time for Tarthang Tulku’s  Nyingma Institute as well as Odiyan. While living at Brietenbush Hot Springs, I received 2 reiki initiations, and started studying bodywork.  I then moved to Hawaii and contributed to two different communities; one based on raw food, the other on the principles of Shivalila. During that time, I was also actively working with psychedelics of all kinds, and got familiar with the lay of that “land”. My sister had had two sons, and I wanted to enjoy being their uncle, so I moved back to the mainland, the bay area, CA. I started working with emotionally disturbed children and a freelance massage therapist and energy worker. One day, my old friend Ano invited me to have a satsang with Saniel Bonder and his Waking Down community, which is how I met my wife, Maria, who was active in that tantric community.   We bonded and decided to marry and we’ve since made two now nearly-grown children, Marley and Logan.

While the babies were little, I got a job working early mornings as a limousine chauffeur. I did that for 10 years, until I got fired!  So I started a farmers market artisanal sauerkraut and kombucha company, Edible Alchemy.  I brought on some partners after a while, and in 2020, I sold it to one of them.  It was a joyous labor of love and I adored being a part of the local food movement. Our business was featured on a PBS show, Tastemakers, you can watch the video here.

I am a lifelong student of the entity known as Michael and “the Michael Teachings“. In that system, I am a Scholar with a priest essence twin and priest casting.  I am capable of teaching an introductory course, in this system to individuals or groups. I put my Michael and astrological charts at the bottom of this page, if you’re interested.

In 2015, I first learned about kambo and was immediately attracted to this powerful technique for healing and transformation.  In 2021, I trained with the International Association of Kambo Practitioners to be able to safely serve this precious medicine.

I love trees, playing in the surf, having fun with friends, chilling with the fam, meditating, and exploring new places and new ideas.  I’m excited to join you on this journey!
